GreenLine Partners with Bekaert to Decarbonise Road Logistics
Mumbai, April 24, 2024: GreenLine Mobility Solutions has partnered with Bekaert, a global leader in tire reinforcement technology, to deploy LNG-powered trucks for Bekaert’s logistics operations.
The partnership is being launched with the deployment of GreenLine’s LNG-powered trucks at Bekaert’s Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra. The pilot aims to reduce the carbon footprint of Bekaert’s road logistics operations while supporting its broader sustainability goals.
Each GreenLine LNG truck is expected to reduce up to 24 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually. The deployment contributes to Bekaert’s ambition of becoming carbon net-zero by 2050 and increasing the share of its sales from sustainable solutions.
For industrial companies, road logistics is an important part of the overall emissions equation. GreenLine’s LNG-powered trucks provide an alternative for long-haul transportation, combining lower-emission operations with the range and payload requirements of industrial freight.
The partnership also brings together GreenLine’s logistics capabilities and the infrastructure required to support LNG adoption. Through its subsidiary, Ultra Gas and Energy Ltd., GreenLine is developing a nationwide network of LNG refuelling stations, creating an integrated ecosystem for cleaner long-haul transportation.
GreenLine’s expanding LNG fleet has already clocked more than 40 million kilometres and avoided over 10,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions. The company is also working towards deploying more than 10,000 LNG and electric trucks, supported by a nationwide network of 100 LNG refuelling stations, EV charging hubs and battery-swapping facilities.
The deployment at Bekaert’s Ranjangaon plant marks another step towards bringing cleaner road logistics into industrial supply chains and demonstrates the potential for LNG-powered transportation to support corporate decarbonisation goals.
