GreenLine Expands LNG Fleet with Shriram Finance Support
GreenLine Mobility Solutions has expanded its LNG-powered fleet with the deployment of a new batch of trucks at Chakan, Pune, supported by Shriram Finance Limited.
The deployment marks another step in GreenLine’s expansion of cleaner heavy-duty transportation solutions across India. The company currently operates more than 650 LNG trucks, serving businesses across sectors including FMCG and e-commerce, metals and mining, cement, oil and gas, and chemicals.
GreenLine’s LNG fleet has travelled more than 40 million kilometres, helping customers reduce over 10,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
The company is scaling its clean freight ecosystem with plans to deploy more than 10,000 LNG and EV trucks, supported by a nationwide network of 100 LNG refuelling stations, EV charging facilities and battery-swapping infrastructure. The initiative is expected to enable annual emissions reductions of up to 1 million tonnes of CO₂.
The partnership with Shriram Finance also highlights the role of financing in accelerating the adoption of cleaner heavy-duty vehicles. Access to suitable financing can help businesses and fleet operators adopt alternative-fuel vehicles while managing the higher upfront investment associated with newer technologies.
“This fleet expansion, supported by Shriram Finance, is another step towards making cleaner heavy-duty transportation more accessible and scalable. As we expand our LNG and EV fleet, partnerships across the ecosystem — from vehicle manufacturers and financiers to infrastructure providers — will be important to accelerating the transition.”
— Anand Mimani, CEO, GreenLine Mobility Solutions
The LNG trucks deployed by GreenLine are manufactured by Blue Energy Motors (BEM) and are designed for long-haul freight applications, where range and operational efficiency are key considerations.
Shriram Finance’s support adds a financing dimension to GreenLine’s growing clean mobility ecosystem. The partnership also represents Shriram Finance’s expansion into financing cleaner-fuel technologies beyond electric mobility.
With LNG for long-haul transportation and EVs for shorter-haul applications, GreenLine is building a multi-technology fleet designed around the different requirements of India's freight sector. The company is continuing to expand its vehicle fleet and supporting infrastructure to enable cleaner road logistics at scale.
