GreenLine CEO, Anand Mimani, at NGV India Summit 2023

Mr. Anand Mimani, CEO, GreenLine, was invited to share his experiences and views at the 7^th edition of NGV India Summit 2023 in Delhi on 20^th August 2023. The theme of the summit was ‘Enabling a Clean Mobility Ecosystem’. 

In the discussion on ‘LNG fuelled mobility and LNG expansion strategies’, Mr Mimani spoke about the high emissions impact of heavy trucking on the environment, resulting in Indian cities having poor air quality. India is also the 3^rd highest emitter of CO2, which is only expected to increase as the economy grows rapidly and India’s truck fleet doubles to a projected 8mn by 2033. 

Mr Mimani highlighted the fact that oft touted clean technologies such as green hydrogen and EV are some distance away in the future, and emphasized the fact that LNG offers the best viable alternative to diesel, to begin decarbonizing logistics immediately.

Mr Mimani spoke how GreenLine is enabling the ESG agenda of conscious corporates, who are according the highest importance and priority to GreenLine’s fleet in their operations. 

He however cautioned that this transition may be constrained due to lack of clear, comprehensive policy framework to incentivize investments in creating the LNG trucking ecosystem, and urged the government of India to develop an enabling policy framework on an urgent basis.
